St Joseph’s AFC Christmas Day

St. Joseph's AFC will hold their annual Christmas Soccer Day on Wednesday 28th December. These have proved to be hugely enjoyable in previous years and we hope this year will be the same. We hope everyone will come along, have a bit of fun and cheer on the players. A marquee will be set up on site to deal with weather issues and tea, coffee, soup and food will be served all day.
TIMETABLE OF EVENTS: U.9 @ 11.30, U.12 & U. 13 @ 12, U.10 & U. 11 @ 12.30, U. 14 & U. 15 @ 1.00, Parents / Adults @ 2.15. All players are asked to be on the field 20 minutes before kick-off of their matches.
St. Joseph's AFC would like to wish all players, parents, supporters and
everyone involved in the Club a Happy Christmas and a very sporting and Happy New Year.

S.F.A.I Cup Draw throws up local derby between St. Joseph’s and Stretford

There was a remarkable outcome at the schoolboys U15 F.A.I. cup draw held in the Gresham hotel in Dublin on Wednesday last when St. Josephs were drawn at home to Carlow town based Stretford in the next round. Both clubs had reached the last 32 in the Pepsi sponsored competition by defeating Waterford clubs in the previous round and could have faced teams from any of the four provinces in last Wednesdays open draw overseen by F.A.I. president David Blood at the famous Dublin Hotel. Instead the two neighbouring clubs who both include Tinryland Gaelic footballers in their ranks will do battle in a mouth watering clash at McArdles Cross in late January for the right to meet Munster opposition in the last sixteen. Further progression by either club could see the winners paired at home with elite Dublin clubs Shelbourne or Cherry Orchard at the quarter final stage.
