Under 13 League
St Josephs 6-1 Burrin Celtic
St Josephs played host to Burrin Celtic in what was a match heavily influenced by the elements. With a strong wind behind them Joeys took control of the game from the kick off and Celtic were under a lot of pressure to keep them at bay. Jeff Sutton scored the first of the game and Darren Murphy made it 2-0 with a great free kick. Darren made it 3-0 shortly after when he used the wind to send his corner curling to the net. Jeff scored a great goal just before half time to leave the half time score 4-0.
Burrin Celtic then had their chance with the wind and they dominated the game. They created numerous chances but could not put them away and as they pressed Jeff Sutton broke to score his third and Joeys fifth. Burrin rallied and pressed Joeys back and scored after keeping Joeys in their own half for about 10 minutes. Just before the end Joeys got their 6th when Robert Stynes and Dean Farrell combined nicely to leave Robert to score. In a very tough game Michael Lawlor and Paul Costello excelled.
