Irish soccer trials for three St. Joseph’s players
There was great news for St Joseph’s soccer club last week when three players from the club were selected for trials for the Republic of Ireland U14 squad. Conor Byrne, Ryan Curran and David O’Shea were picked out at the recent Kennedy Cup tournament in Limerick university and the three boys will attend trials for Vincent Butlers squad on Sunday next. The trials will commence at the Deen Celtic grounds in Castlecomer at 9.30 a.m.
Plans for Adult Soccer team in Tinryland
For the first time this season Tinryland will have an adult soccer team competing in the Carlow and District soccer league. At a recent meeting plans were drawn up for the team, which will compete in division 4. Many of the local players who are currently playing with other clubs will now transfer to the new St. Joseph’s adult team that will be managed by John Maddock.
