New Lady Chairperson for Tinryland Juvenile G.F.C.

History was made on Monday last when Tinryland Juvenile G.F.C. elected
its first lady chairperson. Jenny Fitzpatrick who has held many
positions in the club over the years takes over from Peenie Whelan who
is now chairman of the adult section of the club.

A record attendance reflected on a very good year for the club that saw
Tinryland teams contest 4 county finals and win the Carlow juvenile
football club of the year award for the 6th time. Tinryland juvenile
G.F.C. currently has in excess of 150 members and a coaching staff of 26
qualified coaches.

Highlights during 2010 included reaching both the U14 and U16 A finals
and though both teams lost out at the final hurdle the performance of
both teams gave great encouragement for the future.

Outgoing secretary David Donegan in his report also highlighted the
launch of the clubs Alcohol and substance abuse policy as a major
development from the past year.

David paid tribute to his fellow officers Peenie Whelan and Tom Lawler
(Treasurer) for their dedication, guidance and commitment and promised
the new adult chairman every help in his new role with the senior
section of the club.

The following were elected for 2011:

: David Donegan. Asst. Sec. Richard McGrath. Hon. Treasurer: Tom Lawler.
Asst. Treasurer Diarmuid O'Se. P.R.O: Eamonn Byrne. Child Welfare
Officer: Kay McGrath. A.S.A.P. Officer Liam Lawlor

Mentors: Brian McGuire, Bernard Mullen, Edmund Hayden, John Brennan,
Michael Carew, Eamonn O'Sullivan, Peter Dunne, Kay McGrath, Eugene
O'Brien, David Byrne, Diarmuid O'Se, Johnny Nolan, Jimmy Curran, Martin
Doyle, Nicky Ryan, David Larkin, Brendan Farrell,Denis Farrell Ger
Corcoran, Richard McGrath, John Noctor, Joe Walshe, Martin Byrne, Tom

Bennekerry-Tinryland Ladies G.F.C. Annual General meeting

There was a large attendance at the A.G.M. of Bennekerry-Tinryland
ladies G.F.C. held in the Tinryland G.A.A. clubhouse on Tuesday last.

Chairman Pat McArdle reflected on the year gone by and described it as
the 2nd best year in the clubs 20 year history. During 2010 teams from
the club won Carlow championships at U12, U14, U16 minor and Senior B
level.

Secretary Natasha Lyons in her detailed report complimented all the
different coaches from U11 up to senior . Natasha hoped that the latter
victory in the Senior B championship would be improved on in 2011 with a
senior A title. Natasha also congratulated the U14 team who were
victorious in the All Ireland Feile in Derry and were subsequent
reciepients of a Nationalist and Leinster Times quarterly sports award .

Club officials Anne and Tommy Lyons were recent winners of the service
award at the Co. Ladies medal presentation.

Michael Carew, John Dwyer, Ellen Nolan, Anne Byrne, Pauline Cleary, Sean
Lowry, Liz Butler, Yvonne Bullen.

The next meeting of Bennekerry-Tinryland ladies G.F.C. will be held on
Tuesday 8th February at 8.30 p.m.
