Senior Football League Division 3
Tinryland 3-15 O’Hanrahan’s 2-08
In an interesting and well contested Division 3 game at Tinryland, the home side had a comprehensive victory over The Blues. The difference between the sides was that Tinryland had scoring forwards especially the delightful David Townsend who ended the game with 2-04 to his credit. Alan Barrett had an opening point for Tinryland and a little later had the ball in the net but play was called back for an infringement. Then Glen Doyle added a good point from midfield. In the meantime O’Hanrahan’s had two points from Jimmy White and Paul Farrell before they missed a great chance for a goal. In the twelfth minute David Townsend had his first goal and the same player added a point a minute later. Glen Doyle, Anthony Mannion, Ian Scully had points for Tinryland which was added to by two points from Alan Barrett. Before half time the visitors had points from their centrefielders Jimmy White and Jamie Hennessy to leave the score at the break Tinryland 1-08, O’Hanrahan’s 0-04.
On the restart Graham Delaney had a goal for The Blues followed by two points from Jimmy White and Jamie Hennessy. Tinryland had two points from David Townsend and one from Glen Doyle before Townsend had his second goal, a brilliant effort in the thirteenth minute. The town team then had a very soft goal followed by two points from Mick Thompson to close their scoring. The home side had points from David Townsend, Glen Doyle, Alan Barrett and the scoring was closed by another minor from the star of the night, David Townsend.
Best for Tinryland were David Townsend, Padraig Delaney, Danny Moran, Glen Doyle and Alan Barrett.

The Tinryland Under 16 team have made a very impressive start to this year's campaign and are currently unbeaten and recently recorded wins over Michael Davitts and Muine Bheag.
The Under 14 side were very comfortable winners over MLR in the championship last week on a scoreline of 3-17 to 1-3. This team has also recently qualified for the All
Ireland Feile Competition to be held in Derry.
Tinryland's Under 12 team were also involved in a very exciting championship game against Muine Bheag with the teams finishing level on a score of 4-2 to 4-2 after a thrilling
There have been a number of disappointing performances from the Senior team in the SFL in the last number of weeks with defeats in recent games to Kildavin-Clonegal and Old Leighlin.
A number of serious injuries to key players have not helped the situation of the team to date who will concentrate on this years Carlow Senior Football Championship which will begin
in July. Best wishes are also extended to Shane Redmond who will be part of the Carlow Senior Football Team which will open their Leinster Championship campaign in Portlaoise on Sunday next.
There was also a good response to the La na gclub in Tinryland GAA Club on Sunday last with all teams being involved.
Bennekerry/Tinryland Minors played their first match of the season against Ballinkillen/Newtown. The first half was full of great football and a very close game, with the interval score B/T 4-2 to B/N 3-6.
The second half saw B/T only kick a solitary point with Ballinkillen/Newtown running out decisive winners. Full time score B/T 4-3 to B/N 6-12.

Their 2nd match was against Eire Og/O'Hanrahans. B/T went on to win the match on a score of 6-23 to 0-3.

B/T under 14's took part in the Carlow Feile competition last weekend. The girls won their four round matches and beat Myshall in the final. B/T will now represent Carlow for the 9th year running In the Feile in Derry.
