Tinryland players prominent in historic C.B.S. victory
Tinryland students played a prominent role for Carlow C.B.S. in their historic victory over Marist College Athlone in the first round of the Leinster Colleges (A) S.F.C. at Dr Cullen Park on Wednesday last. Captained by Tinryland’s Shane Redmond the Academy also included Conor Byrne, Ryan Curran and Michael Mullen in their starting fifteen while Tinryland also supplied a further five players to the panel. These included Lee Buggle, Padraig Whelan, James Dempsey, Kevin Barrett and Stephen Reilly. Carlow C.B.S. who were competing in the Colleges (A) division for the first time in 25 years won last weeks match by 3-9 to 0-6 and now progress to the last sixteen of the competition. The C.B.S. have already defeated Good Counsel, St Peters, Naas and Portlaoise this season and recently drew with Knockbeg in a competitive challenge match.

A.G.M. of Tinryland G.F.C. postponed
The annual general meeting of Tinryland G.F.C. originally fixed for Monday last 10th December has been postponed until early January due to unforeseen circumstances.
The meeting has been rescheduled for Monday 7th January at 8.p.m. and will be preceded by Mass for deceased members of the club in St. Joseph’s Church Tinryland at 7.30 p.m.
