Tinryland Minors brought back down to earth

Following wins over St. Andrews and O’Hanrahans Tinryland minor footballers were brought back down to earth by Michael Davitts in the M.F.L. at Rathcrogue on Sunday last. Tinryland never got out of the blocks in this game and the home side trailed by 1-6 to 0-0 at half time having played against a strong wind in the opening half. The anticipated Tinryland revival never really materialised in the second half despite a point from Darren Murphy after only 50 seconds. Michael Davitts put the result beyond doubt with goals in the 42nd and 54th minutes to run out deserving winners on a score of 4-9 to 0-5. Tinryland on the other hand could only muster 4 further points from Mark Morrissey (3) and Cormac Walshe. After being in action for the last three Sundays Tinryland minors will have to wait a full four months for their next competitive game in Carlow following the crazy fixture planning by Carlow Co. Board which leaves many minor footballers without games from now until mid July.
