ON WINNING COLLEGES TEAM:

Well done to all the Bennekerry-Tinryland Girls Footballers who were on the St. Leo’s team that won the Leinster Schools Senior Football Final on Wednesday last. They were Sinead Lyons, Christine Scully, Niamh and Emma O’Regan, Deirdre Doyle, Mary Barrett, Caoimhe Whelan, Gloria Nolan and Eilish Murphy.

JUVENILE FOOTBALL CLUB AGM:

The Tinryland Juvenile GFC AGM was held in Rathcrogue on Tuesday, January 17. Chairman Michael Murphy reviewed a very successful 2005 where the Under 10 team won several tournaments including the Maurice Nolan A competition and the two under 14 teams won their County A and B finals and also reached the Féile final losing by 2 points.

At the start of the year, member-ship now stands at 176 ranging from under 6 up to under 16 level. The club now fields 7 teams and it is expected that this will continue in the future.

Parents and mentors were thanked for their co-operation, hard work and support over the year and hopes are high for more success in 2006.
