Tinryland GFC Supporters Club to be launched
TINRYLAND GFC recently announced plans for a supporters club which will be launched in the club on Friday, January 27. Aimed primarily at past players and members as well as current members and supporters the club will be headed up by former player Fr. P.J. Byrne who is the current parish priest of Kilcock in Co. Kildare. One of the main aims of the supporters club will be the raising of much needed revenue to offset the huge cost of running a club of Tinryland’s size. For a monthly fee of €25 all members of the new supporters club will be included in a monthly draw for a €1000 prize and a December draw for €5000 in addition to having their club membership paid for the year. Tinryland GFC currently caters for 19 teams at adult, underage and ladies club level and recently opened a new state of the art floodlit pitch at its headquarters in Rathcrogue. The Tinryland G.F.C. dinner dance will be held in the Seven Oaks Hotel on Friday 10th February with music being provided by top band Vegas Nights.
LADIES FOOTBALL: Bennekerry/Tinryland ladies football committee and senior girls had a very enjoyable trip to Dublin on Saturday, January 7.
Having started off the day shopping in the Dundrum Town Centre, the group then went on to go ice-skating in the RDS. After a very successful day, they stopped off on the way home for a meal in Crookstown Inn.
On Friday last the club held its presentation night for the Under 12, 14 and 16 teams that won the County “A” Championships during the year. The medals were presented by Paul Murphy of Dan Morrissey Ltd.
The night finished with a disco for the girls. The club would like to thank all the sponsors and Tinryland GFC for the use of facilities.
The Bennekerry-Tinryland Ladies Football AGM will be held on Tuesday next, January 24 at 8 pm in Tinryland GAA Centre, Rathcrogue.
All committee members are asked to attend. All new members are also welcome.
