Rockford Race

Rockford Rooftile 4 Mile Road Race Tinryland AC Saturday 27th Aug.

The 32nd running of this event sponsored by Dan Morrissey Ltd since
its inception which will be held at 5.30 pm in Tinryland village, Co.
Carlow on Saturday the 27th August. The organising committee have
continued the new revamped race which saw a record crowd last year
with all the usual very high standards being maintained with a few
bonuses. This year a huge effort is currently being undertaken to
increase the amount of competitors in the race and a special effort to
recruit locals, walkers, joggers and runners of all abilities. A
unique addition this year is the Top class spot prizes which will be
restricted to non individual prize winners who finish the 4 mile event
which is AAI measured to the exact metre. Included in these prizes is
the opportunity to win a fantastic 1,000 holiday voucher. After the
race anyone who did not win an individual prize will be entered into a
draw free of charge and some lucky individuals will win one of these
fantastic spot prizes. Up front the athletes will be catered for with
Cash prizes in all usual Senior Male/Female and Vets Categories and
Teams. Post race activities include the famed refreshments where a
wide selection of food will be available free of charge for all. Race
video, presentations, spot prize draw and live music in the local GAA
centre. So come along and enjoy a great atmosphere in Tinryland.
Online entry is available with runireland.com for the next 4 weeks for only 10 (credit
charge included) or enter on the day
for 15 on race day in the local parish hall. Race numbers will be

A mini Rockford will start at 5pm for all juveniles under the age of
15. This is a mile event and will be a mass start with juveniles of
all ages competing against each other. This is a fun event with all
juvenile finishers receiving medals. So come along and enjoy the last
weekend of the summer holidays and enjoy our unique race where we
cater for runners and walkers of all abilities.
