After a strong early showing, Pat Byrne faded to finish a disappointing 8th position in the National Masters Cross Country in Boyle Co. Roscommon on Sunday last.
Pat who was 2nd in this event in 2008, will surely be back to contend for the title next year. The race was won by Peter Matthews of Dundrum South Dublin ahead of
Ciaran O'Doherty of Letterkenny with John Downes of Donore in 3rd position.
There were some good performances from other Tinryland athletes on the day with Tommy Payne finishing a very creditable 30th position.
JJ Murphy and Denis Shannon also finished well on the day.

Ballycotton 10

Best wishes are extended to the Tinryland contingent of Pat Byrne, Dwayne Farrell, Mick Kehoe, Colin Payne, Tommy Payne and Kevin Cuddy who will all take part in the Ballycotton 10 mile event in East Cork on March 21st.
