Four County League

Tinryland AC lead this years Four County League after the opening stage which was held over 4 miles on the road in Ferns Co.
Wexford on Sunday last.
Former winner Pat Byrne was the first Tinryland athlete home in 3rd position behind winner Ger Clancy of Wexford and runner up Colm Burke
of St Abbans. Dwayne Farrell was the next clubman home in 4th with Tommy Payne in 6th, Mick Keogh 13th and JJ Murphy 21st.

Tinryland lead in Grade A of the team section with a total of 26 pts ahead of SBR on 28 pts and Gowran on 79.

The outstanding run from a Tinryland athlete on the day came from newcomer John Dillon who finished 19th to lead home Tinryland in Grade C with
John Maye 29th, Denis Shannon 48th, Billy Abbey 49th and Kevin Cuddy 55th.

In Grade C, Tinryland are in 2nd position on 145 pts behind leaders SBR on 97 and Gowran on 152 pts.

In the Veterans section, Tinryland are 3rd behind SBR and Ballyfin.

In the Ladies race, Muireann O'Sullivan finished 18th with Niamh Byrne 19th.

The next stage will take place on the road on Sunday March 29th in Gowran Co.Kilkenny starting at 1 pm.
