St Stephens Day Turkey Trot

The annual Tinryland AC Turkey Trot over 4 miles will take place in Tinryland Village on December 26th at 11 am. The event is open to runners, joggers and walkers alike. The winner will be the person closest to their predicted time (no watches allowed!) and there will be prizes to all finishers. For more information contact Sean at 087-2509520

Home Countries Cross Country

Pat Byrne of Tinryland AC was 3rd in the over 35 section in the Home Countries Cross Country International in Stormont, Belfast over the weekend. Pat was the 2nd Irish scorer on the team that won the international section in what was his debut run at Masters level.Eddie Walsh was a very respectable 34th in the over 50 event on his 2nd outing in the Irish colours, having represented his country in Falkirk, Scotland last year.

Athletics

Tinryland AC Juvenile athlete Deirdre Doyle had a fantastic run to finish 7th in the All Ireland Girls Under 18 Cross Country Championships in the Curragh on Sunday last. Deirdre who had been injured during the season, also recently won the Leinster Under 19 title and was earlier 3rd in the Under 18 event. The race was won by Tara Jameson of Wicklow
