COMMUNITY GAMES: The 30th Annual Bennekerry-Tinryland Community Games Finals took place in Palatine GAA Grounds, Bennekerry on Thursday last.

KATE JUMPS TO SUCCESS: Kate Morgan (13), Tinryland won the Leinster Minor Schools Long Jump in Santry on Wednesday last. Kate, a 1st year Student in St. Leo’s, a winner in the South Leinsters the previous week, was lying in only 4th position before her final jump. She then recorded a PB of 4 metres 63 cm to take gold from Emmy Coffey of Wicklow.
On the same night she returned to Carlow to win the Girls Under 16 Long Jump in the Track and Field Championships.
Another local athlete Emma Brennan took bronze in the Minor Girls 80m Hurdles in the Leinster Schools Finals.
