New Musty Rhythms visit Germany
Local folk band New Musty Rhythms broke new ground last weekend when they travelled to southern Germany for a number of engagements. The band which is made up of Tinryland musicians David O’Neill (Lead vocals and guitar), Sean Byrne (Bodhran), Conor Byrne (Bass) and Killeshin man Michael Bolton ( Fiddle) entertained patrons for 3 successive nights at Old Murphys Irish pub in the city of Saarbrucken. Tinryland Senior Citizens Party
The Tinryland Senior Citizens new years party was held on Sunday 13th January in the Tinryland GFC clubhouse Rathcrogue and was an outstanding success. Almost 60 senior citizens from the area attended the event which began at 2 p.m. when lunch was served.
Entertainment on the day was provided by Billy Kirwan with guest appearances by the local John Paul youth group led by Fr Liam Morgan who also displayed his singing talents which went down very well with the guests. Well known veteran Irish country music DJ Johnny Barry of KCLR paid a special visit to the event and was warmly received by all present. Well done to the local senior citizens committee for organising the party and to Tinryland G.F.C. who provided the venue and help for a most enjoyable day.
