Good run by Marcus at World Junior Championships in Barcelona

17 year old Marcus Lawler did himself, Tinryland and Ireland proud when he ran a very good race to finish 5th in heat 7 of the World Junior ( U20) 200m championship at the Olympic stadium in Barcelona last week. In a very strong heat won in 21.29 by the fastest Junior in the world Tyreek Hill of the U.S.A. Marcus was second fastest out of the blocks from lane 8 and he was in contention all the way to the finish clocking the same time 21.58 as the 4th placed runner . Considering that he will still be underage when these championships will be next held in 2014 this was a tremendous run by the Ballycrogue lad and he is sure to have a tremendous future on the world stage in the coming years.
