Information Morning

An information morning tea for Tinryland Park will be staged in Tinryland Hall on Sunday June 3, after 10am mass. The event will provide an opportunity for the public to see first-hand how the Directors of Tinryland Park Limited are progressing with plans to regenerate the derelict Tinryland Tennis Club and pitch-and-putt site. All Welcome

Local Students Win School Awards

Congratulations are extended to all students of CBS Carlow on their awards night on May 17th
especially to all students from Tinryland Parish who were award winners. From the Tinryland area, Eamon Murphy won academic student of the year and junior athletics awards, Niall Lowry won the Pat Meany award, Bill Calvey was awarded academic student of the year and Mark Lawler also was academic student of the year and won an Irish debating award.
Marcus Lawlor was the recipient of the athletics senior award with Michael Calvey winning the young environmentalist and German Debating awards while Conor Mcgrath was awarded student of the year.

Internet Courses

The Internet for Complete Beginners course under the Benefit3 programme will be coming to an end soon. It is available to the unemployed, rural dwellers, over-50’s, single parents, those with less formal education, and those living alone. Participants will get instruction on using search engines, E-mail, Facebook, uploading photographs, and general computer usage. €10 for 10hrs duration is 5 weeks. Contact 059 9143972 to enrol.

Educational Bursary Award

Students including mature students starting first time in 3rd level college can enter for this award.
They can win €1,500 per yr for 3yrs totalling €4,500 towards their studies. The award is not performance based. It is a draw but there are some conditions. Check out Carlow CU's website for further information and application form. Students must be members before 1st. June this year if going to college in September/October.

Carlow Summer Camp

Small Bird Sale

Bring and Buy Poultry and small Bird Sale at Hacketstown Community Hall from 9am to 1pm on Sunday June 3rd 2012.
