Louth-Carlow Rivalry in area
This week's Leinster Senior Football Championship Game between Carlow and Louth motivated
a local family to take some unusual and amusing measures in advance of the game given the
split loyalties within the household. Louthman John McCullough, Tinryland along with his
wife Jenny, a native of the village managed to get specially commissioned jerseys from
O'Neill's Sportswear which were split into Louth and Carlow halfs given the divide in the
family over this highly contested game where Carlow managed to stage a magnificent win by 0-14 to 0-13.
