Tinryland School News

The following were Setanta winners: Aoibhin Kennedy, Junior Infants, Eva Doyle, Senior
Infants, Daryl Nolan, 2nd class, Lisa Delaney, 3rd class, Amy O'Sullivan, 5th class,
Ciara Nolan, 6th class. Both Ciara and Amy were overall winners in the Co.Carlow
competition.

First Penance was celebrated on Thursday April 7th.

Easter Quiz winners were Killian Nolan, Ceola Webb, Anne Marie Dooley, Alex Purser and
Peter Whelan (held from Junior Infants to 2nd class)

Astronomy Ireland came to our school on Thursday April 7th to talk to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th
and 6th classes. They spoke about our solar systems, international space stations and
meteor showers. It was a reminder for all children to look out for meteor showers on
April 21st.

The Carlow Community Games Handwriting Competition was won recently by Evan McGuire, 3rd
class.

The Europa Cup will visit Tinryland NS on Friday 6th May.

Wedding

The wedding took place in St. Joseph's Church, Tinryland on April 8th of Elaine Delaney,
daughter of Clem and Grania, Tinryland and Ross Townsend, son of Eamon and Audrey,
Ballycarney. The chief celebrant was Rev. John McEvoy PP. The best man was Liam Kenny and
the bridesmaid was Niamh Delaney. The groomsmen were Trevor, Glen and Eamon Townsend and
John Treacy while other bridal party also included Caroline Rowan, Ailbhe White, Sarah
Dowling and Sabrina Kelly. The flowergirls were Sarah, Keeva and Jane Delaney. Music was
provided by Laura Curtis, Aoife Reddy and Amy O'Brien. The reception was held in the
Riverside Hotel, Enniscorthy and the honeymoon is currently being spent abroad.

Athletics

Senior registrations for Tinryland AC Club members are now due. Please contact Carol
Byrne or any committee member as soon as possible.

Committee Meeting

St Josephs AFC next committee meeting is Tuesday 26th at 8.30 pm in
community centre in Tinryland. Can all committee members please attend

Tinryland GFC Juvenile training times.

U8s Saturday 5 to 6pm
U10s Saturday 5:30 to 6:30 and Wed 6:30 to 7:30.
U12s Monday and Thursday 7.00 to 8.00.

Saplings School for Children with Autism

BE A VOICE FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM, walk/jog/run the Flora Women's
Mini Marathon in Dublin on Monday 6th June in aid of the Saplings
School for Children with Autism, Carlow. Registration and transport
arranged also a free t-shirt. Have a wonderful day out while
supporting a local childrens charity. For more details call Siobhan

Mini Marathon

We are looking for participants to walk, jog or run the Flora Dublin
Mini Marathon on 6th June next. All money raised this year will be
donated to Eist, Carlow Cancer Support Group and Carlow Kilkenny
Homecare Team. Free bus provided. For sponsorship card contact Mary at
