Weekly News Roundup - Tuesday 1 Feb 2011

Very Successful Senior Citizens Party

Almost sixty people attended the Tinryland Senior Citizens belated
Christmas party on Sunday 23rd January in Leinster Hills Golf Club. A
wonderful meal was served by proprietor John McDonald and his staff.
Tom Loughman provided the music and everyone enjoyed the dancing and
singing. Eddie Townsend and a group of young traditional musicians
from the parish also provided wonderful entertainment for the
occasion. Anthony Murphy who was celebrating his birthday on the day
and Josie Lyons cut the Christmas cake which was donated by Seery?s
bakery and iced by Tina Doyle.A big thank you to all the groups and
individuals in the community who supported the Senior Citizens in 2010
and made this occasion possible including the children from Suantrai
Montessori School who donated the proceeds from their Christmas card
and art sale, St. Josephs Soccer Club who donated proceeds from their
carol service held in December and Tinryland GFC who donated proceeds
from the 2010 Celebrity Bainisteoir.
