There was once again a very large attendance at the Annual Cemetery Mass at St. Josephs
Church, Tinryland on Friday July 9th.
The ceremony was conducted in the church due to weather conditions but there was an
excellent PA system for thos gathered outside
and the proceedings could be heard on FM Radio in the wider local area. The celebrant was
Rev. John McEvoy PP assisted by Rev. Eamonn Hayden.
A large amount of work was put into tending the graves in the weeks leading up to the
All parishioners involved are to be commended for their efforts in ensuring the
graveyard was in excellent condition for the occasion.
There was also a special Mass held in St. Joseph's Church on Sunday last to honour the
Bennekerry/Tinryland Girls Under 14 Football team
which won the Division 4 section at the All Ireland Feile Competition in Derry recently.

IRISH COURSES FOR ADULTS
A two year part-time Diploma in Irish Course for adults offered by University College
Galway will commence in Carlow in September 2010. Entry requirements
are a Leaving Certificate pass standard or its equivalent as well as acceptable oral and
