Weekly News Roundup - Thursday 15 Jul 2010

Busy Buddies

Busy Buddies Homework Club is currently being set up in the Tinryland Parish Centre with the
blessing of Fr. John McEvoy PP, Mr. John Kelly, Principal and staff of Tinryland NS. It is hoped
the club will be up and running by the end of September 2010. The club is aimed at students in Junior and
Senior Infants attending Tinryland NS and will run from Monday to Friday from 2pm to 3pm in conjunction
with the school year. The weekly cost per child is 4 euro. If you would like your child to attend please use
the contact details at the end of the page. The club is limited to 20 places and will be filled on a first come first
served basis. All adults participating will be subject to Garda vetting.
Busy Buddies would like to take this opportunity to invite volunteers to give an hour or two per week to this great cause.
It is not required that volunteers be a parent or carer of a child in the school to participate. All ages and gender

Community Games Parade

The Bennekerry/Tinryland Community Games Committee would like to thank the following who helped organise the winning Carlow Community Games Parade: Sandra Ormonde, Carmel Farrell, Ellen Nolan, Marguerite Mullen, Leah and Donna Mullins,
Stephanie O'Brien and Martina Kenny. And a special thanks to Kevin Nolan who transported all the gear for the parade to Ardattin in his van.

Lotto

In the Draw of Wed 30th June, the winning numbers were 10, 12, 16 and 22. There were 23 winners of 44 each for Match 3's. Books of tickets may be picked up
in any of the following: Deane's Shop, Church Sacristy and the Parochial House. The special monthly parish draw based on the lotto took place on July 11th.

Kid's Computer Club

Starting CRISP Castle Hill, Carlow.
Monday 12th July and Wednesday 14th July 2-4pm
Monday 19th July and Wednesday 21st July 2-4pm
Monday 9th August and Wednesday 11th August 2-4pm
Monday 16th August and Wednesday 18th August 2-4pm
Extra dates and times will be scheduled subject to demand.

KIDS COMPUTER CLUB will be running in CRISP Castle Hill July through to August mornings and afternoons. (Subject to demand).

Learn how to use Microsoft Word for school projects etc. and Microsoft Publisher to create your own greeting cards. 2 hour sessions 5 per child (reductions for more than one child from same family).

Music Summer Camp

Have fun and learn to play any of a wide range of musical instruments with
Mary Hennessy and Michael Hennessy. The camp runs from July 19th - 23rd
(inclusive). Limited places available. For full details contact Mary on

FREE COURSES FOR THE UNEMPLOYED

A total of 60 training places are available on courses in Ecotourism, Equestrian Trail Ride Leader, Mountain Skills, Hill Walking Guide and Outdoor Pursuits. These course lead to qualifications with FETAC, The British Horse Society and Mountaineering Ireland. They will take place in Rathvilly, Co. Carlow. They are open to people who have been unemployed for at least 3 months and in receipt of social welfare payments. During the course participants can keep all their social welfare entitlements. Charity Golf Classic

Charity Golf Classic in aid of Down Syndrome Carlow, Thursday 22nd July,
Coolattin Golf Course.
Team of 4 to include meal 200. Prizes in all categories. Tee times

Sponsorship: Greens 50 or Tee Box 100. The continued support for local
people from the local community is, as always very much appreciated.

Stretch N Grow The Worlds Leading Health and Fitness Programme for Children.

Stretch N Grow Summer Camp will take place in Askea Boys School from the 3rd-6th August for 3-8 year olds from 2.30-5.30pm. Cost 65. Places limited so to book please call Olivia @ 087 9099806.
