Carlow Football Leagues commence this coming weekend
Football action for Tinryland G.F.C. will resume this coming weekend when the various divisions of the Carlow S.F.L. will have first round games. First into action will be the senior team who will begin their division 1 campaign on Sunday next at 2 p.m. with a home match against Fenagh. Last years division 2 champions will then have games on Saturday 4th April at home to Eire Og at 6.30 p.m. and away to Palatine on Saturday 11th April at 6.30 p.m.
The clubs 3rd squad will be in action in the S.F.L. division 4 on Wednesday next 1st April when Leighlinbridge will visit Rathcrogue for a 6.30 p.m. throw in. The 3rd team will then have further games on the following 4 Wednesdays against Kilbride away, Palatine at home, Fighting Cocks away and Mount Leinster Rangers at home.
Tinryland junior A team will commence their S.F.L division 3 campaign on Tuesday 7th April with a home game against St. Patricks at 6.30 p.m. followed by an away fixture to Palatine on Tuesday 14th April and a home tie with Kildavin Clonegal on Tuesday 21st April. All league fixtures for the entire season are posted in the club and can also be downloaded from the clubs website.
Tinryland Parish has joined the Kildare & Leighlin Co-Op Lotto, which takes place at 4 pm each Wednesday in Portlaoise Parish Centre. We have some promoters already, but need many more. The tickets cost €2 each. Ticket buyers pick four numbers between 1 and 32. The Lotto is weekly. Books of tickets for promoters are available in the Sacristy, at the Parochial House or in Deane’s Shop. Sold tickets and money should be returned by the Tuesday before the Draw. Thus for our first Draw on Wed 25 March, tickets should be left in by 8 pm on Tuesday 24 March.
SCRIPTURE SHARING FOR LENT:
The weekly scripture group meeting in the Parochial House will be at 8pm on Thursday, 26 March. All are welcome.
LENTEN INTER-CHURCH MEETINGS:
The Wednesday Evening Meeting will take place in the Seven Oaks Hotel at 8 pm from 25 March – 1 April. On Wed 25 March the topic will be “ Handing on the Faith”. Speaker: Turlough O’Brien.

A Seminar for Tidy Towns Groups will take place on Wed 25 March at 7.30 pm in the Ramada Hotel, Killerig. Useful tips will be offered by the speakers.
LENTEN YOUTH RETREAT:
The Diocesan Youth Ministry Team has organized a Lenten Retreat in Mount St. Anne’s Retreat Centre, Killenard, Co. Laois for next Sunday, 29 March from 1.30 pm – 5.30 pm.
Ronan Johnson (RTE) is the Guest Speaker. This is aimed at 16 to 24 year olds and youth leaders.
