Recent Weddings

Congratulations are extended to the following who got married recently: Colm McGrath, Linkardstown son of Dan and the late Mary and Nichola O'Grady, Arklow, who teaches in St. Lazerian's who were married in Ballon on Friday and the celebrant was the Rev. Sean Maher. The reception was held in Ballykealy House and the honeymoon was spent in Africa.
And also to Louise Nolan, Moyle, Castletown, daughter of Tom and Breda, who married Mark Daly of Prosperous Co. Kildare in St. Joseph's Church, Tinryland on Saturday. The celebrant was Rev. John McEvoy PP and the reception was held in the Lyrath Estate, Kilkenny.


Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Eileen Kinsella, 12 St. Joseph's Terrace, Tinryland on the death of her mother Mrs. Mary Bolger from Tullow who died on Saturday last. Mrs. Bolger was in her 93rd year.

The St. Vincent De Paul Quarterly Collection will be held on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 6th and 7th of September.

Legion of Mary

The Annual Pilgrimage to Our Lady's Island, Co. Wexford takes place on September 8th, feast of the Nativity of Our Lady. The bus leaves Carlow bus station at 4 pm and will stop in Tinryland at 4.10 pm. Tickets are 15 Euro and booings should be made by ringing Kathleen at 059-9133292 or Josie at 087-8324656.

Carlow Local Authorities Arts Office are conducting a survey of Theatre and Drama groups throughout the county and would like to hear from all groups with the following information: contact name, information about the drama/theatre group, members age range, group numbers and meetings. The Arts Office hope to keep the groups up to date with theatre and drama events in Carlow, particularly with the upcoming opening of Visualise and the George Bernard Shaw Theatre, due to open in 2009.
