New Transport Service for Tinryland

Rural Transport Service from Tinryland Carlow (Thursday & Friday)

Ring a Link, the rural bus service, delivering services in County Carlow, have recently extended its service to include Tinryland every Thursday and Friday to Carlow.
The service will collect in Tinryland at approximately 11.00am on both days, and return on Thursdays at 1.30pm and Fridays at 2.00pm.

Other areas covered by these services include:
Bunclody, Myshal, Kildavin, Clonegal, and Rathoe.

In order to travel on the bus you need to register and book your seat with Ring a Link on
LO CALL 1890 42 41 41.
Fares: Adult return 5/Under 16 return 3/Under 4s free\Free Travel Pass accepted.

School Fete/Field Day

Thursday nights fundraiser was a great success. Many thanks to all who contributed to this success: Parents Council members, Parents and all others who helped at the stalls, entertainment and catering. A special thanks to all who came to support the venture. Thankfully the evening though windy kept very fine. Tinryland NS and the Tinryland Senior Citizens Association will be the beneficiaries.

Tidy Towns

The Tidy Towns Committee wishes to express thanks to many people for donations received. The committee wishes to invite residents to join in their 2008 campaign every Tuesday and Wednesday evening at 7 pm.

ICA News

Tinryland ICA would like to thank all those who have contributed so far towards the cost of producing their Cookery book, for their 60th anniversary, which is early next year. Work is currently in progress and it will be on sale before the end of the year. If anyone would like contribute they can forward donations to the Secretary, Mrs. Margo Brophy, Ballybar, Carlow.

Tea Party

Ms. Mary Keenan, Ballincarrig would like to thank all who generously supported the recent Afternoon Party in her house which raised 1,000 each for both Holy Angels Centre and St. Lazerian's School, Carlow.

TINRYLAND SCHOOL: Much regret is felt at the news of the transfer of Mrs. Ita Finnerty to another school after the holidays. She has been with us since 1982. Best wishes to her as she begins in Tullow Girls School next September. Sincere thanks to her for her wonderful service to our School during her 26 years there.

Wedding

The wedding took place in Stratford on Slaney Co. Wicklow on Saturday last of Edward Dowling, son of Ned and Theresa Dowling, Ballybar and Edel Whittle, daughter of Dick and Ann Whittle, Stratford on Slaney. The chief celebrant was Fr. Padraig Shelley and the con-celebrant was Fr. John McEvoy. The best man was John Lyons while the groomsmen were Paul McGrath, Adam and Aidan Dowling (brothers of groom). The matron of honour was Carmel Doyle while the bridesmaids were Judith Byrne, Faith Doyle and Amy Whittle.
The reception was held afterwards in Ballykealy Manor Hotel.

Sympathy

Sympathy is extended to the Doran and Murphy families on the death of Margaret Doran (nee Townsend), Ballycarney, Green Road, who died peacefully at her daughter's residence in Ballyloo on Monday last.
She is survived by her husband Michael, daughters Helen, Karen, Avril and Ravina, son Michael, brothers, sisters, sons-in-law, daughter in law, grandchildren, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Remains were removed from R. Healy and Son Funeral Home, Pollerton Castle on Wednesday followed by Removal at 7.45 o'c. to St. Joseph's Church, Tinryland. Funeral Mass took place on Thursday)at 12 o'c with Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Action Camp

A multi activity summer camp for boys and girls aged 5 to 13 years will be held in St. Leo's College Sports complex on the following dates: June 30- July 4, July 7- July 11 and July 14-18 from 10 am to 3 pm each day. All activities will be under the supervision of PE teachers. Enquiries to Anne Rennick at 087-2217413.
