Local Win at Cheltenham

Tinryland AC Athlete and amateur jockey Patrick Mullins gave his renowned father Willie something special to cheer about with an excellent win in the Weatherby's Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham festival last week. Patrick took the once-raced 5 year old Cousin Vinny to the front on the home turn in the race and the 12-1 shot stayed on strongly despite showing his greenness by drifting over to the far rail.
Cousin Vinny powered home to win by three and a quarter lengths from Corskeagh Royale (7-1), with Zaarito, the 3-1 favourite, three-quarters of a length away third.
Patrick is a prominent member of Tinryland AC, having joined as a juvenile at the age of 11 and has since competed at all levels up to Senior events.

There were also further local success at the Cheltenham Festival as Captain Cee Bee, trained by Eddie Harty and ridden by Robert Thornton took the Anglo Irish Bank Supreme Novices' Hurdle.
