Jumble Sale a Success
A jumble sale organised by 5h and 6th class pupils in Tinryland NS on Wed last raised a sum of 750 Euro. The money will go towards the building of a three storey school complex in Ghana, Africa. The school will serve towards the education of children in 4 villages who cannot access affordable education. The money will be presented to the Hacketstown Christian Centre.
Volunteers are invited to join in the work each Wednesday for this years Tidy Towns effort.
All who wish to help out should meet at the Church gates at 7.30 pm.
A good amount of work needs to be done on maintenance and enhancement of features in the village.
Pride of Place
Tinryland Cemetery has been entered in the Burial Place Category of the 2007 Pride of Place Competition. For this reason and in preparation for the annual cemetery mass (Friday July 6th at 8 pm), all are encouraged to make a special effort in cleaning the cemetery.
St. Joseph's Young Priests Society are organising a pilgrimage to Knock on Saturday June 23rd. Early booking is required as numbers are required to reserve a bus. Contact Josie Kelly at 087-8324656 or any committee member of the parish branch.
A 5 day pilgrimage to Lourdes is being organised by the St. Joseph's Young Priests Society and will take place from September 7th to 12th. The cost is 695 Euro per person. Bookings can be made to Tullys Travel, Carlow at 9136100 or Josie at 087-8324656.
This years annual Cemetery Mass will take place in St. Joseph's Church, Tinryland on Friday July 6th at 8 pm.

Tinryland Area Development Association (TADA)
TADA are in the process of setting up an arts and crafts group in the area for beginners to advanced levels. The group will be set up if sufficient interest is shown. For further information contact Michael at 9140083.
Carlow Community and Voluntary Forum and Carlow LEADER Rural Development Company Ltd invite all community groups to a special meeting on Tuesday June 19th at 8 pm in Ballykealy Manor Hotel, Ballon. The purpose of this meeting is to engage with all the community groups in Carlow to ensure that their views and needs are reflected in the next LEADER programme for the county which is scheduled to operate from 2007 to 2013. Carlow LEADER will also be launching their "Sustaining Community Buildings" Manual on the night.
