Exciting Community Games finals

THERE was a fine turnout and some excellent races in the Tinryland/Bennekerry Community Games athletics finals in Rathcrogue on Thursday night last despite the unfavourable conditions on the night.
Mosney hopefuls Marcus and Grace Lawlor, Adam Murphy, Sean, Jemina and Philippa Kirwan and Alison Farrell all showed their potential on the evening. Tiny Tots prizes were kindly sponsored by local shopkeeper Jim Deane.

Relay trials for the county finals will be held on Tuesday, May 30 and Thursday, June 1.

STAINED GLASS WINDOW PROJECT: The Baptism of Christ Window by AE Childs is now being worked on in the workshop of Sheridan’s, Stoneyford Co. Kilkenny. Nearly •2,000 has now been given by kind donors including the families of the First Communion class 2006.


CEMETERY MASS: This year’s cemetery mass will be held in Tinryland on Friday, July 7, at 8pm.

WEDDING: The marriage took place in the Church of San Andrea al Quirnale in Rome, Italy, on April 29 of Tina Byrne, daughter of Pat and Eileen, Ballybolger and Seamus O’Reilly of Kilbride. The bridesmaids were Susan McDonald and Denise Byrne (sisters of the bride) and the best men were Barry and Eamonn O’Reilly. The reception was held in the Hotel Napoleon in Rome.


SYMPATHY: Is extended to Mrs. Esther Farrell, Linkardstown on the death of her sister Mrs. Mary Ann Thompson, Newtown who died during the week.

ICA OUTING: The Tinryland ICA annual outing to Lismore Castle and Gardens in Co. Waterford and Mount Melleray will take place on Tuesday, June 13. Anyone interested in joining guild members on their outing should contact either Frances at 9142073 or Freda at 9146539 before June 7th for further information.


DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK: On Sunday June 4, Bishop Jim Moriarty will lead priests and people of the diocese in the pilgrimage to Knock. A bus will bring pilgrims from the area. Tickets for the bus may be obtained in the sacristy for Adults (•20) or children u-14 (•10).
