THE UPS IN YOU’RE STAR FINAL:

Best wishes are once again extended to local group “The Ups” who will compete in the finals of the You’re Star Talent Competition in the Helix in DCU on Sunday next.
The duo consisting of Debbie Kelly, Linkardstown and Justin Kelly, Carlow are now in the last 12 of the competition, which attracted thousands of entries at auditions in four locations around Ireland.
All the remaining acts will now compete against each other on a weekly basis on RTÉ television with a contestant eliminated each week until the grand final in April.
All support and especially text votes would be greatly appreciated.

TINRYLAND’S X FACTOR: The search for Tinryland’s very own X Factor contestant is on, as Tinryland Variety Group are hosting a special fundraising night in the Clubhouse on Friday, February 24. The three judges for the event are soon to be announced. Over the next few weeks, each judge will pick and coach three acts. The audience on the night will choose the eventual winner. Tickets are •5 and are soon available in Jim Deane’s shop, the clubhouse, or from members of the variety group and a great night is assured.
Normal weekly sessions have resumed at 8 o’clock on Tuesday nights in the Clubhouse. The group are currently preparing for this year’s show to be staged in late April. We are currently looking for singers, dancers, actors, and backstage crew for the show. Anybody interested can contact Robert O’Neill on 086 3501699.
