Trip to Leopardstown Christmas Meeting
After last years successful outing Tinryland G.F.C. racing club is planning another trip to the Leopardstown Christmas festival on Wednesday 28th December.
Seats are still available on the bus at a cost of €20 to attend a top class day of National Hunt racing featuring the Grade 1 Lexus Chase. If interested please contact Martin Byrne at 086 8125055 or Eamonn Byrne at 087 2770128 as soon as possible. The bus will leave for the races at 10 a.m. approx and will return to Carlow shortly after the last race at approx. 4.30 p.m.
The 2005 Reaching Out Emigrants letter is now in circulation.
Liam Byrne made a significant contribution to the publication with well-written articles on locals Paddy Regan and Eddie Kennedy together with the Leinster Hills Golf Club and the Irish Sugar Factory.
There are also many detailed accounts of the many sporting, cultural and religious events in the parish for the past year together with interesting pictures from years gone by.
The Reaching Out Magazine, which contains 35 pages, can be purchased in Deane’s Shop or in St. Josephs Church and is excellent value at 5 euro.
Christmas Mass Times
The following are the times of Christmas services in St. Joseph’s Church, Tinryland.
The Vigil Mass will be at 9.00 pm on December 24th. There will also be Masses at 9.00 am and 11.00 am on Christmas Day, December 25th.
Tinryland Variety Group
Practices for the variety group will resume on Tuesday 11th January. New members young and old welcome. The group are beginning to rehearse for the Carlow Tops competition due to take place at the end of April.
