Congratulations to the following who were married in St. Joseph’s Church, Tinryland recently: Brian Cole, Ballybar and Lisa Dowling, Tullow Road, Michelle O’Brien, Cloughna and Thomas Dowling, Green Road. Congratulations are also extended to John Murphy, Linkardstown and Deirdre McDonald, Adamstown who were married in Wexford and to Teresa Nolan, Linkardstown and Tom Gorman, Ardattin who were married in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ardattin.
Sympathy is extended to Bernie O’Brien, Tinryland Lower on the sudden death of her brother James Jackman, late of Tullow who died in London. To Cora and Nell Townsend on the death of their stepmother Mrs. Ann Lawlor, Royal Oak, Bagenalstown. Mrs. Lawlor was also a sister in law of Mrs. Susan Nolan, Tinryland. Also to Declan Byrne, Cloughna on the death of his mother Mrs. Eileen Byrne, Paulstown and to the relatives of Luke Lawlor, formerly of Graiguenaspideogue, who died in Mayo.
Athletics training for Tinryland/Bennekerry Community Games takes place in Tinryland Parochial Fields on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 7 and 8 pm for the coming months.
The area finals will be held in Bennekerry on Thursday May 19th.
The St. Joseph’s Young Priests Society Pilgrimage to Knock takes place on Saturday June 25th. The bus will leave Tinryland at around 7.45 am and the cost per place is 15 Euro. Bookings and payments should be made by June 12th to Josie Kelly, Linkardstown at 087-8324656.

Apostolic Work Society
The Apostolic Work Society will hold its Annual Retreat in St. Patrick’s College, Kiltegan on Sunday May 29th. All are welcome. For further information contact Statia Townsend, Linkardstown or Pauline Cleary, Tinryland.
ICA Annual Outing
The Tinryland ICA Annual Outing takes place on June 15th visiting Airfield House and Gardens, Dundrum and also Dundrum Shopping Centre. The celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi takes place on Sunday May 29th. As this is the year of the Eucharist, there will be an outdoor procession after 11 am Mass with the Blessed Sacrament being carried on the chosen route (starting in the square, turning left in the village and returning by the Parochial Avenue). All clubs, associations and organizations of the Parish who are taking part are invited to provide a steward who will attend a meeting on Thursday May 26th at 8 pm. The newly confirmed and the First Communion Class will form the start of the procession. Four men to hold the canopy are also required. Helpers should volunteer in early May and notify members of St. Joseph’s Young Priests Society or Fr. John McEvoy.
