Tinryland to feature on “Your Neighbourhood”
TINRYLAND will be the featured area on the K.C.L.R. programme “Your Neighbourhood” which will be broadcast at 7 p.m. on this Wednesday evening. Presented by Carmel Brennan the programme which was recorded last week in Tinryland G.A.A. club will feature representatives from all the clubs and organisations in the parish. The hour-long programme will also feature local musical talent. Among those interviewed for tonight’s programme were Jim Deane of the Tinryland area development association, Pauline Cleary representing St. Josephs young priests society, the choir and the apostolic work group, Ann Marie Maher of the Foroige group, Robert O’Neill of the variety group, Betty Grogan representing the I.C.A. and May Byrne of the Senior citizens committee. Sporting clubs will also be well represented in tonight’s programme with Pat McArdle speaking on behalf of the community games and Ladies football groups, Eamonn Byrne on behalf of the G.A.A. and athletic clubs and Alan Doyle on behalf of St. Joseph’s soccer club.
ROAD IMPROVEMENTS: As part of the Carlow County Council Road Restoration programme for 2005, the section of road from McArdles Cross to the 1798 Monument will be resurfaced. The project will cost 54,000 and it is hoped that work will commence in the coming weeks.
THEATRE GOERS: Over 90 pupils from Tinryland NS travelled to Kilkenny on Thursday to see the excellent Watergate production of “Stuck in the Mud”. The play was enjoyed by all and dealt with “Bullying” in the playground and related issues.
YOGA CLASSES: Local yoga instructor Angela Doyle of Rathcrogue is currently holding yoga classes in Carlow Yoga and health centre 7 Brown Street Carlow on Friday evenings between 7 and 8 p.m.
