Reaching Out Magazine
This years Parish Magazine "Reaching Out" is currently being prepared. Anyone who would like to submit an article, report, interesting stories or photographs or other item for publication should forward same to Maureen Byrne, Ballybar Upper as soon as possible.. Articles can be submitted in any format: handwritten, typed or in electronic format (MS Word.doc) by e-mail to email@example.com or on disk. Ordinary photographs or digital jpeg files are also welcome.
Mr. Brendan Kelly
Sympathy is extended to Frank Kelly, Ballybar (brother) and Una Kelly (Learning support teacher, Tinryland NS) (daughter) on the sudden death of Brendan Kelly, Booldurragh, Fenagh on Sunday last. Removal took place from his residence on Tuesday November 9th at 7 pm to St. Lazerian’s Church, Drumphea. Funeral Mass took place on Wednesday followed by burial in Lismaconly Cemetery, Myshall.
The following were recently appointed as Eucharistic Ministers in Tinryland Parish: John and Ann Lawlor (Cloughna), Michael Cleary (Tinryland), Liam Byrne (Tinryland), Sheila Walshe (Park), Joe Doheny (Kyleballyhue), Patricia Morrissey (Clonmelsh) and Linda Kenny (Graiguenaspideogue).
Bishop Moriarty has recently launched a “Reach Out” campaign for all parishes. The first stage is focused on advent and reaches out to those less likely to participate in church including lapsed mass-goers, newcomers to the parish or the young. A special candle will be available on December 4th and 5th for distribution to the households of the parish.
World Youth Day
The World Youth Pilgrimage will be held in Cologne, Germany between August 14-21 next year. The age group for whom it is intended is 17-30 years old. Booking forms are now available from the local church for those interested in travelling to the event. The cost is 499 Euro approx, which includes basic food and accommodation. All bookings or deposits are due by December 17th.
