Parish Website Launched

The new Tinryland Parish website was formally launched at a well-attended function in Rathcrogue Centre on Saturday last. The excellent website contains a large amount of information on the local area and should prove to be an invaluable communications tool. There are many interesting features on the site including a news section with all local news dating back from the last five years, local information including a parish map and aerial photo and a search engine. The site is diverse and varied and has sections devoted to all the sports clubs and groups in the area, the church, school, local facilities as well as containing historical articles and images of the locality. There are also additional features such as an area where the Reaching Out Parish Magazine can be downloaded, a news update facility and a section where businesses can advertise. The site can be accessed at and is also linked to the Tinryland GFC Website.
The GAA Website was also launched on the same evening having been up and running for the last couple of months. Club secretary and website developer John Scott spoke of the growing importance of having a website and said that Tinryland was one of the first clubs in Carlow to have a presence on the web. A major sponsorship deal for the club from Dan Morrissey was also unveiled on the night.
Special mention must go to talented local musician Joe Cleere who entertained the crowd with a wide range of songs on the night.
