Tinryland GFC Prize Draw
A special prize draw in currently being run by Tinryland GFC. The prize
entails a year's premium ticket to Croke Park and includes admission to all major games. Tickets are now available from members of the committee or from the bar in the clubhouse or Deane's shop and are priced at €20 each. The tickets are valid from May 31st 2004 for a full year. The draw will be held on Friday 28th May in Tinryland Clubhouse at 10 pm.
Following recent interest, it is hoped to soon set up a variety and
performing arts group in Tinryland. A meeting will be held on Tuesday June 8th in the committee room of Tinryland GFC, Rathcrogue for anybody that would be interested in forming a committee or getting involved by either performance or as part of a production team. The group will be aimed at those aged 16 and over and it would be excellent to have some young people and new faces involved with the group.
14 Second Class Pupils in Tinryland NS made their first Communion in St. Joseph’s Church, Tinryland. The celebrant was Rev. John McEvoy PP. The large amount of preparation for the event was made worthwhile with the excellent weather conditions on the day.
The Holy Angels Day Care Centre is looking for ladies to participate and raise funds for the centre in this year’s Mini Marathon to be held on Monday June 7th. Transport and t-shirt will be provided. For further information contact Sharon at 9143911.
The Apostolic Work Society Retreat will be held on Sunday May 30th at 10.30 am in St. Patrick’s College, Kiltegan. All are welcome to attend.
The Kildare and Leighlin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock takes place on Sunday July 4th. Names of those who would like to travel by bus should be left into the Parochial House, Tinryland by writing as soon as possible.
Relay Trials for Community Games will be held in the Parochial Fields, Tinryland tomorrow (Thursday) at 7 pm. The teams involved are from Under 6 to Under 16.
The Area 11 Under 11 Tag Rugby team took part in the Carlow Community Games Competition in Ballon on Friday last. Having defeated Burrin area in the opening round, Area 11 contested a very exciting final with Ballon losing out 4-2 in extra time, having drawn on a score of 8 tries each after normal time. There were some good tries from Brian and Edward Byrne, Donal Curran, Michael Mannion, Dearbhla Kelly and Brendan Hutton.
