Under 12's Draw in Final
In a quiet week for Gaelic Games in Tinryland the main story concerned the U12 team that contested the Co. U12 (B) final with O'Hanrahan's at Dr. Cullen Park on Sunday morning last. In a low scoring game Tinryland got off to a great start when Chris Whelan goaled in the early stages. Further points from Darren Murphy in the 15th and 16th minutes and a point from David Townsend saw Tinryland hold a 3 point lead to half time. In a low scoring second half Tinryland still led up to the closing stages but O'Hanrahan's eventually drew level on the stroke of full time to force a draw. Final score Tinryland 1-4 O'Hanrahan's 0-7. The replay will take place on Monday next in Dr Cullen Park. Best for Tinryland were Lee Buggle in goal, Dean Farrell, Kevin Barrett, Brian Deane, Chris Whelan, Darren Murphy, David Townsend, Patrick Brennan, Eric Bates and Garry Finnerty.
