Locals are reminded that the judging of hanging baskets, window boxes and gardens takes place over the coming week. The prizes will be presented at a function on a date to be decided.
The following are the dates for this year's Tinryland AC Autumn League. The first stage over 2 miles takes place on Wednesday September 4th at 7.30 pm. The second stage over 4 miles takes place on Wednesday September 11th at 7.15 pm. The 3rd stage over 4 miles incorporates the Rockford Rooftile Race and will take place on Sunday September 22th at 2 pm. The final leg over 2 miles is on Friday September 27th at 7 pm.
Tinryland will play Rathvilly in this year's Carlow Under 16 Championship semi-final in Tullow on Friday next, August 16th at 7.30 pm. The same team narrowly lost the Under 14 Final to Eire Og two years ago and will be aiming for the title this year.
A charity fundraising night for Fr. Eamonn Hayden's Zambian mission will be held in the GAA Centre, Rathcrogue on Friday August 30th. The music will be by Riverroad and the admission is €5 (donations accepted). Any spot prizes would be greatly appreciated.
Tinryland Community Alert are now compiling a list of names for sensor lights, personal alarms, window and door locks for the elderly and vulnerable of our parish. If you know of anybody who would benefit from any or all of these contact Jim Boles at 33560 as soon as possible.
