Tinryland - Ned is new chairman

Former player and juvenile mentor Ned Deane is the new chairman of Tinryland G.F.C following the well attended A.G.M on Monday last.

He succeeds outgoing chairman Brendan Hayden who did not seek re-election following 3 years at the helm. The outgoing chairman came in for high praise for his untiring work during his term in the office. In his chairman’s address Brendan congratulated the juvenile section of the club that had another successful year. Secretary Cormac O’Toole in this report referred to the good progress made by the minor and u21 teams that reached the county semi-finals. The intermediate team had an unsuccessful run in the championship but they did manage to retain division 1 status. The purchase of extra land adjacent to the existing club grounds will be a great benefit to the underage section of the club but plans are now very much in doubt due to the planned construction of the N9 motorway.
