Tinryland - Belarus visit
BREDA and Michael Aylward of Linkardstown have recently returned from a visit to Belarus. They were delighted with the welcome they got from their hosts and local villagers. Breda described conditions there like Ireland in the 1930ís. People live a very primitive way of life with basic food, heating and sanitary conditions. Her mobile phone was a major attraction. Burial graves are being dug up now to avoid winter snow problems of January/February. It was also distressing for them to see the beautiful neat houses and villages that were deserted when the Chernobyl disaster struck.
BUS TO DUBLIN: There will be a coach trip to Dublin on Sunday, December 9th to attend the Windsor Christmas market and also a visit to Blanchardstown Shopping Centre. For further details contact Eithne Ryan or Edward Dawson.
