Grants allocated for local development
Tinryland Area Development Association (TADA) have been allocated £350 by Carlow County Council for the purchase of litterbins in the area. The grant was made under the Environmental Grant Scheme and the recently signed Tinryland Litter Management Action Plan for 2000.
A grant has also been allocated for the improvement of the 1798 Monument at Roche's Cross.
Successful Course: Seventeen participants from the area received certificates recently on completion of the six week Interior Design Course held in Tinryland NS. The course was organised by TADA in conjunction with CANDO. Plans are now afoot for First Aid and Computer Courses, which will begin in Spring/Summer.
Rosary: On Friday at 9.30 am in St. Joseph's Church, Tinryland, a Rosary and prayers will be offered. There will also be a distribution of the Eucharist. There will no 8.30 am Masses on Sunday or week day Masses until further notice.
Meeting: A meeting of St. Joseph's Young Priests Society will take place on Friday at 8 pm in the Parochial House.
Information Centre: Carlow Citizens Information Centre, St. Joseph's Road, offers a free and confidential service on rights and entitlements regarding Social Welfare, Health, Housing, Tax, Consumer Affairs and many more topics.
